World-class magician David Williamson is overjoyed to receive Fuguihong's art treasure "Natural World" as a gift
In 2004, the high-temperature red glazed techonolgy, well-known as a "Goldbach's conjecture" in the ceramic and porcelain field at home and abroad, was successfully developed in the city of Dehua China, by Xu Shaodong, the artistic director of Fujian Fuguihong Culture DevelopmentCo., Ltd.
As it is fired at a temperature of over 1300 degrees, the high-temperature red-glazed porcelain has a purely bright and stable colour. This techonolgy has won a wide acclaim since it came into being in 2004. Porcelain artworks made by means of this techonology have immediately become the most valuable art gifts given to respected leaders of different countries and distingushed foreign friends as national presents. On account of this, the legendary red glazed poecelain artworks have been called "Red Magic" in the field of ceramics in China.
Fortunately,"Red Magic" met an American world-class magician, David Williamson, in Beijing, the capital city of China, in Novenber, 2009. The magician, who was invited by BTV to give a wonderful performance in Spring Festival Evening, was fanscinated by "Red Magic" all at once. Mr Williamson had a great passion and longing for Chinese cultures. He explained to a journalist that to experience more Chinese culture in person was one of the important reasons why he chose to perform in China. During his stay in China, Mr williamson often tries his best to avoid the media by asking his colleagues to walk secretly along the streets and lanes in Beijing so as to have a close contact with the local people and customs.
What made him most excited was an valuable Fuguihong porcelain, a treasure called “Tiandi Fangyuan” or "Natural World" (in Chinese it means vast and harmonious universe) given to him by BTV as a present. Holding it in hands and lookig it up and down,Mr Williamson felt so amazed that he couldn't help asking whether it was really made of porcelain and whether it was really a present for him. His interpretor gave him a confirmed answer and told him something unique about this treasure. Knowing that this great art treasure has belonged to him, Mr Williamson said in excitement,"I have once been deeply impressed by the graceful blue glazed porcelain as well as the flawless white porcelain, but I have never known this red glazed porcelain which can give people such a warm feeling of joy and wealth." He also added that he would treasure this splendid and priceless "friendliness" and share it with his family and friends back in
America.
